Tried another shortcut that others have had success with but sarah and I are with ianto. The noise, the fumes and the mess just dont add up to anything saved. We did make a nice pile of cob but we were bushwacked for it. So we have struck out with the mortar mixer and now the tractor. Next up is the rototiller. For now though, it's back to the tarp.
